Because I know and understand baseball as it is played on the field and conducted in the front office. I will be watching you very closely. I will be on you like stink on a skunk. You don't like ClevelandLive? Let's set some parameters then. First - no MLB team has any interest in any of the Tribe's veterans. The decent ones are too old to bring any value. Second - our '02 starting rotation are all current members of the team. There will be no trades or FA signings that will bring a WC to C-town. So if you post anything stupid I'll be calling you on it. Clear? Fryman is not going to the Dbacks for Schilling,OK? And we don't need your multi-paragraphical ramblings about the necessity of a 4 man rotation in the first round of the playoffs. BTW - you still owe me $1000.

Clarification on the $1,000 bet...I said without a 4 man rotation, One of our pitchers would have to go on 3 days rest.

Finley pitched game-2, but then only got 3 days rest before he pitched in game-5.

By the way, I have never proposed those trades where we get a lot and give up a little.

I've always been more interested in maximizing the talent already on the team.

That is what you said after I pointed out that with a west coast opponent playing the first game on Tuesday and an off day on Wednesday we could get by with a 3 man rotation in the first round. You did say they'd need a 4 man rotation after we knew the Tribe would play the M's. That's OK. I know you were wrong and that's what is most important. And don't start selectively pulling out archived posts that justify what you're saying now.

I'm being pretty specific...I said the only way a team could go with a 3 man rotation is if one of the pitchers was willing to pitch on 3 days notice.

I was 100% correct about that.

So you're denying you said the Tribe needed a 4 man rotation for the first round of the playoffs? You did amend your statements later but initially it was that the first round required a 4 man rotation. That's true unless you're playing a west coast opponent which means a day off between game 1 and game 2. I knew that. You didn't.

Come on Mr. October...the reason I said we needed a four man rotation was because of what happened to Nagy and Bartolo when they were both pitched on three days rest in the 99 series.

The stat most mentioned during the most recent playoffs was how badly playoff pitchers were doing on three days rest.

As it turned out, we had to pitch Finley on three days rest when he pitched in game five....that was my point, I wanted to avoid us pitching anyone on three days rest because in the past we haven't done so well.

For the record, you were and still are WRONG! The angels are playing on Tuesday and Wednesday, off day Thursday, then play Friday Saturday and Sunday.

The bottom line is if the series goes five games, a three man rotation is not sufficient unless one of the pitchers pitches on three days rest.
